Goody Box Grain-Free for Dogs

Hello, friends!

IMG_1716

Teton and I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and that you squeeze every last drop of that wonderfulness out before tomorrow comes. ♥

This morning, we met a great friend and her dog and walked a local trail, then had a tasty coffee and breakfast together. Friends and dogs and coffee. The little things truly are the big things, aren’t they?

Speaking of big things, I’m really, really excited to tell you about this F U N new product from Chewy.com…

Meet the Goody Box Grain-Free Box for Dogs!

Goody Boxes are specially curated boxes for Chewy.com for either dogs or cats. They come in eight varieties – four for dogs and four for cats.

I’ve always been intrigued by the monthly subscription boxes out there but these are far more appealing to me because you don’t have to many any sort of commitment when you order them. Each box costs $19.95, ships for free, and is filled with tons of goodies!

IMG_1737

When I say tons of goodies, I really mean tons of goodies.

The booklet inside each box has information on what’s inside…

IMG_1738

I was pretty surprised to see how full the box was!

Here’s what was inside our Goody Box Grain-Free Box:

IMG_1741

A package of Solid Gold Superfoods Turkey, Sweet Potato & Cinnamon Grain-Free Chewy Dog Treats

IMG_1742

…something from one of our new favorite brandsNulo Freestyle Grain-Free Duck Recipe Dog Training Treats

IMG_1743

Merrick Power Bites Real Texas Beef Recipe Grain-Free Soft & Chewy Dog Treats, which we already know we love

IMG_1744

…something new and exciting from K9 Natural – Meat Mates Beef Meal Mixer Freeze-Dried Grain-Free Dog Food Topper

IMG_1745

…yep, there’s more – Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredients Diets White Fish & Sweet Potato Formula Flaked Grain-Free Wet Dog Food

IMG_1746

…and last, but certainly not least, this tiny adorable Hartz Bug Eyes Dog Toy.

This box is legit. And all the Goody Boxes look legit!

There’s one for small dogs called the Tiny But Mighty, a Made in the USA box which has products entirely from the USA (whereas the Natural Balance food, for example, is made in Thailand), a Happy Birthday box (I die), and of course, the Grain-Free box.

I love the idea of gifting this box to a friend’s dog for their birthday or to a new dog or cat owner who has adopted from a local shelter or rescue. What a fun gift both to give and receive! It could be especially fun for new pet owners to help them figure out some brands their dog or cat may like.

Big thanks to Chewy.com for hooking us up with the Goody Box Grain-Free box this month.

Teton had a few of the Nulo treats after his long walk today and we’re excited to give the K9 Natural Meat Mates topper a try. We’ll keep you posted on how it is!

Happy tails…

Merrick Power Bites

Happy Sunday from these two chuckleheads.

kyra-teton

Yep, we’ve got Teton’s lady friend Kyra for a few days. ♥

I’d love to say that these two posed organically for this picture, but they were really hoping I’d drop one of these new treats from Chewy.com on the ground. 😉

treat-1

Merrick Power Bites are available in four flavors on Chewy.com, but we got the beef recipe because cows.

power-bite-close-up

These bite-sized little treats are soft and chewy, which makes them perfect for any size and any age of dog. Just give more or less depending on your dog’s size!

As with all Merrick food and treats (they’re one of our favorite brands!) these are loaded with great ingredients like beef, potatoes, carrots, apples, blueberries, and rosemary extract.

You can tell they smell good to Teton and Kyra because, well…

Merrick’s Pappy’s Pot Roast Dinner

This past week, Teton enjoyed Merrick’s Chunky Grain-Free Pappy’s Pot Roast Dinner wet food over his dry food.

merrick1

I love Merrick canned food for Teton and have been buying it for him in a number of their fun recipes since he was about a year old. He doesn’t get canned food over his dry food every time he eats, but it’s great to mix it up once in a while when that same old dry food gets boring.

Our buddies at Chewy.com sent us an entire case of this stuff! Teton isn’t complaining.

halloween-2

(Observe Halloween bandana #1…monster mash.)

Merrick’s Paddy’s Pot Roast Dinner, aside from having the best name ever, is loaded with great ingredients like beef liver, potatoes, and carrots. It looks so much like real pot roast that one of the first reviews of it on Chewy.com is entitled “looks like pot roast.” 😀

Skeptical? Take a gander.

merrick4

This is the kind of food that the husband and I reference when we make statements like “Teton eats better than we do.”

Look at that beef. Those potatoes. The whole carrots.

Paddy’s Pot Roast Dinner is easily cut with a fork right out of the can, which is what I did with the carrots and potatoes before feeding it to Teton. One lick of the spoon before I set his bowl down and he was 100% on board, which is great because he’s been picky with his food lately and more often than not leaves it in the bowl for almost the entire day before eating it.

If you’re in the market for some canned food, give one of the Merrick flavors a try. Chewy.com has SO MANY flavors (check them out here) and they are just under $30 for a case of 12 cans. If you aren’t sure whether your dog can get through that many, split the case with a friend. Sharing is caring.

Paddy’s Pot Roast Dinner is probably Teton’s most favorite flavor but he also like Grammy’s Pot Pie, Cowboy Cookout, Turducken.

Big thanks to Chewy.com for hooking us up again this month!

Teton had a great October. Now that the weather is cooler he spent some days with his pals  Biju and Kyra at work.

Pretty good life they’ve got, I think.

October comes to a close tomorrow with Halloween, so Teton will wear his glow-in-the-dark bandana (thanks, Auntie Morgan!) and steer clear of chocolate. 😉

Merrick Backcountry Steak Patties

Wow! It’s been SO long since I posted. (Insert exasperated emoji face here.) Between vacations, dog-sitting, coaching, and working the time flew by and apparently I fell off the blogosphere.

We dog-sat our nephew, Henley Pretzel, a few weeks ago.

Henley Pretzel

He was a good little turkey. Teton loves his cousin.

Teton

(Taking a break from playing.)

While Henley P. was at our house, I had the boys (what we collectively refer to Teton and Henley as) try out some new treats from Chewy.com.

Merrick Backcountry 4

The Great Plains Real Steak Patties from Merrick’s Backcountry line are a grain-free treat made with a short list of great ingredients.

Merrick Backcountry 3

Beef and sweet potatoes are some of my favorite ingredients (for Teton and for me)! Five minutes ago, I didn’t really know what mixed tocopherols were but thanks to my friend Mr. Google, I now do.

Mixed tocopherols are a natural preservative that also serve as a source of vitamin E. Vitamin E has circulatory health and immune system benefits and is even said to slow aging and protect against cancer.

Merrick’s Great Plains Real Steak Patties are a hard, crunchy treat. They can be broken into smaller pieces but not with ease. I typically give Teton and entire patty but with Henley being significantly smaller, he usually got 1/3 or 1/2 of a patty.

Merrick Backcountry 1

I’ve given Teton a variety of Merrick treats these past seven years and I’ve been pleased with all of them. These particular treats are a great option if your dog likes some crunch!

Right now on Chewy.com all of the Merrick Backcountry are on sale for $6.99. Along with the Great Plains Real Steak Patties that we tried, you can snag a bag of Wild Prairie Real Turkey and Sweet Potato Patties, Great Plains Real Beef Sausage Cuts, Pacific Catch,  Real Salmon Jerky, or a handful of other flavors.

Thanks to Chewy for hooking us up!
