Newman’s Own & Joint Snack Sticks

Happy Monday!

monday

Why can’t we have every Monday or Friday off? I really believe that we’d all be happier, healthier, and more productive in our personal and work lives. Am I right?!

Today’s review is on a new treat from the Newman’s Own Organics line, available on Chewy.com.

Teton has been enjoying the chicken-flavored Hip & Joint Snack Sticks all week and we’re very pleased with them! Here’s why…

newmans-2

These treats come in a 5-ounce bag that’ll run you just $3.71. That’s awesome thing number one. Awesome thing number two is that they’re made of great ingredients like chicken, chickpeas, rosemary extract, turmeric, and of course glucosamine and chondroitin. (Read more about glucosamine and chondroitin in one of my previous posts here.)

Newman's Ingredients.jpg

More awesome coming your way. They’re made in the United States, they’re free of corn, soy, and wheat, and they are super soft and easily broken making it a great treat for dogs of all ages.

Teton approves, as evidenced by him creepin’ on me as I took these photos.

If you’ve never given your dog a supplement or treat for their hips and joints, I recommend it. Why? Why not? I, myself, take a glucosamine supplement so why wouldn’t I do the same for my little dude if it’s likely to help his hips and joints?

The Newman’s Own Organics Chicken Hip & Joint Snack Sticks are a great glucosamine and chondroitin treat to try because they’re made with great ingredients and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Now, if you’re in the market for something for your dog-loving self, walk run to TJ Maxx if you have one near you because OMG look at these adorable bags I got there yesterday. ♥

bags

The tote was $4.99 and the zipper pouch was $2!!! I couldn’t not get them. I’m seriously always on the hunt for dog stuff for humans so please, please let me know if you find anything amazing! You can e-mail me directly at herdogblog@gmail.com!

Happy tails, y’all!

Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals

Hello! It’s my birthday today. I don’t believe anyone should ever have to work on their birthday so I took the day off, worked out, had coffee with a friend, got a massage, ate lunch with my Dad, walked Teton, and just chilled out. Adulting isn’t so bad when you can have a day like today.

The last few weeks, Teton and his buddies have been munching on Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals salmon and sweet potato treats from Chewy.com.

fromm4

These grain-free treats (which are on sale right now for just $3.21!) are made with real salmon, cranberries, sweet potato, spinach, green beans, and beets…just to name a few ingredients. Seriously. I think these treats are probably healthier than some of the things I eat.

fromm3

The Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals are like the PopTart of dog treats. There are a zillion flavors. Check it out here. You can choose from lamb and cranberry, parmesan cheese, liver, cranberry, and a handful of other flavors. (Mmmm…PopTarts.)

Teton and all of his buddies approve of these treats.

Caru Real Turkey Stew

Happy Saturday!

This week, Teton has been enjoying Caru’s Real Turkey Stew on his breakfast and dinner.

caru-stew

Caru’s line of stews are made in the U.S. with 100% human-grade ingredients and come in really unique and smart packaging.

Check it out…

caru-stew-2

Voila!

caru-stew-5

To close it back up, all you do is re-folds the flaps together and down. We kept ours in the fridge for a week and never had an issue with spillage. 🙂

This packaging is BPA-free and made from up to 70% paper. It’s so nice to have something that’s environmentally friendly and something that doesn’t require a lid or make me paranoid about slicing a finger open with.

Caru’s Real Turkey Stew looks and smells like something from a Campbell’s can! It’s pretty obvious that it’s made of human-grade ingredients by the chunks of meat, potatoes, and veggies in it.

caru-stew-8

And if the way it looks isn’t enough, the ingredient list seals the deal!

Sometimes Teton is a diva and rejects his dry food so this type of topper is perfect since I only have to use a little to entice him to eat all of his breakfast or dinner. The bonus of only needing to use a little? It lasts longer!

caru-stew-4

We’ve tried a handful of stews from brands like Natural Balance, Merrick, and Taste of the Wild, but I think the Caru line of stews is Teton’s favorite so far.

Check out Caru’s “Find Us” page to see where you can snag a box of stew for your pup!

Frisco Dog Poop Bags

Happy Wednesday!

Tomorrow is September 1st. What.in.the.heck. I’m torn between having to wear pants again but also wearing leggings and sweaters with Uggs. Hashtag basic. I know.

Last week was National Dog Day. Teton and I drove through Starbucks to get a little whipped cream.

National Dog Day

Which made his morning, obviously. 😉

Anywhats, we’re not here to talk about Starbucks or National Dog Day. We’re here to talk about poop.

Frisco Chewy

A few weeks ago, Chewy sent me a ginormous box of Frisco Refill Dog Poop Bags to test out. And when I say ginormous, I mean GINORMOUS. I think we got a lifetime supply of poop bags.

Frisco Bags 2

Here’s the deal. Poop bags aren’t a glamorous dog product, but they are 100% necessary for all you Dog Moms and Dog Dads out there. And, before you ask, no, not all poop bags are created alike! I’ve had bags break whilst picking up a steaming hot pile of doodie, bags that smelled worse that the doodie itself, and bag dispensers that I could barely get the poop bags out of!

The box we received from Chewy has 2 dispensers and 900, yes, you read that right, NINE HUNDRED poop bags in it. Score.

Frisco Bags 3

I love this type of dispenser because you can attach and detach it easily to move it from leash to bag to backpack, depending on where you need to keep it handy. It’s also designed so that the bags are very easy to pull out.

We got the scented version of these poop bags and the scent isn’t very strong, but because of that, it’s also not at all off-putting.

You might be wondering how much 900 poop bags will cost you. Well, I’m here to tell you…they are cheap. Yep. $14.97 for the entire box which even includes the two dispensers. I’m thinking these bags will last us a long time.

If you’re in need of more poop bags…and really, who isn’t (aside from me at this very moment), head over to Chewy and snag a box of these.

Head back over this way later in the week for a review of some new treats from Caru, complete with photos of Teton chewing.

IQ Studio Leather Dog Collars

Happy Friday!

Teton has had a lot…and I mean, a lot of collars over the years. But, believe it or not, he’s never had a leather collar. I guess I always thought that dogs with super fluff couldn’t/shouldn’t wear leather collars because their hair would get pulled, matted, etc. in them, but when Angie at IQ Studio (check out Angie’s Dog Mom Project here!) offered to send us one of her handmade collars to review I was excited to give it a go!

IQ Studio has quite the range of handmade leather collars to choose from. We ended up selecting the Sizzling Red.

IQ Studios 3

Isn’t it pretty? ♥ Remember that part about super fluff? Well, Teton is the definition of super fluff so, while I snapped a few photos of him in his new IQ Studio leather collar, all you can see his hair so take my word for it that his collar looks great on him. 😉

Collars from IQ Studio are made of a high quality leather that’s super durable. The hardware, as you can see from the photo above, is made from hearty brass. Together, they make for an awesome leather collar that I have no doubt will last for years and years.

I’m happy to report that Teton’s hair has not gotten pulled or matted or compromised in any way since he’s had this collar, so I guess I was wrong about that super fluff.

IQ Studios 5

IQ Studio was kind enough to send one of their detachable bow ties along with our Sizzling Red collar. While the bow ties aren’t available on their site currently, they do offer collars like the Glamorous which has a flower attached to it.

If you’re in the market for a new collar for your pup, check out the assortment from IQ Studio! Thanks to Angie (and Sawyer, Pixie, and Nala) for sending Teton his collar!

Happy tails…
