These little nuggets are made in the United States and have just a short list of ingredients that includes sweet potato and duck (obviously) as well as peas, rosemary extract, and green tea extract.
Canidae offers this treat in a variety of flavors and each treat is just 3 calories so they make a great training treat or treat for a smaller dog.
You know. Like Henley P.
While these treats have a great ingredient list and are made in the United States, my one issue with them that I think was also Teton’s issue is that they aren’t really “chewy.”
My sister mentioned the same and said that she had to break them up for Henley but once she did that he was hooked. So, points for flavor!
If you have a dog that loves unique flavors like duck and sweet potato or rabbit and kale and doesn’t have a strong preference for softer, chewier treats, Canidae’s line of Grain-Free PURE Chewy Dog Treats may be a good option for you.
Hope you liked this quick review! Thanks to Chewy.com for another treat this month.
We’ll be back to check in soon!
Happy tails…

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we watched Teton’s pal, Copper.
Teton is definitely an only child if you catch my drift, but he and Cop are buds and I think it’s safe to say they had a great time together.
When ever I needed to leave the house and could, I took Teton and Copper with me.
Enter the Goosemobile.
One of Teton’s many nicknames is Goose (or The Goose, Gooser, Goosen, etc.) so naturally when I started driving our Subaru Outback and taking Teton everywhere with me, I dubbed it The Goosemobile.
Since I’m a crazy dog lady, the middle seat of the Goosemobile, when not being used to transport human passengers, is covered with the Kurgo Wander Bench Seat Cover.
Before recently, the hatchback, where Teton and Copper spent most of their time and where Teton usually hangs out, was filled with an old dog bed and a few blankets. Now it still has the bed and blankets, but underneath is the Kurgo Cargo Cape!
Kurgo’s Cargo Cape protects your car interior from wear and tear caused by scratches, dog hair, dirt, water, and all sorts of other things.
The cape is quickly and easily installed like all Kurgo products and stays put once it’s in place. That being said, however, because of the Cargo Cape’s unique and thoughtful features like the split zipper and easy-release buckles, it’s also quick and easy to adjust it to accommodate other variations in your vehicle.
One of the best features of the Cargo Cape is the bumper guard. Check it out.
This heat duty material is fully waterproof and can be stored up or folded down as is shown in the photo above. It’s a super nice feature to have if your dog jumps in and out of the car and has a tendency to scratch the bumper, but I also think it’s great for other protection purposes like moving plants, tools, etc. in and out of your car.
As with all Kurgo products, the little things are the big things. Like the addition of mesh pockets on each side to hold leashes, towels, or other things your dog might need.
Kurgo’s Cargo Cape has been a great addition to the Goosemobile. If you’re looking for something to protect the back of your vehicle, I highly recommend it. Especially with Kurgo’s lifetime warranty!

Tested to over 500lbs of force, the Thundersnap Leash is unique because of it’s clip, which attaches quickly and easily (and dare I say, in a snap) to the black cap attached to your dog’s collar.
In this instance, I think GIFs speak louder than words.
The leash itself is a basic black leash but gets bonus points from us because it’s made of strong webbing and has reflective details. Safety first for those early morning and night walks, my friends!
Don’t mind the eye roll. He was excited to walk. I promise. 😉
While I do think the snap mechanism on the Thundersnap Leash is a bit heavy and clunky, the ease of connecting the leash to Teton’s collar and/or harness makes up for that. It’s a fun to use and it works well if I need to quickly leash him up in the house or outside.
If you prefer a retractable leash over the more classic style, check out the Dial-A-Distance Leash.
I love taking Teton with me everywhere I can. Luckily, (I think) he likes it, too. One of his favorite places to go is the “man store” (Lowe’s or Home Depot) but he’s not that picky and he’ll gladly take trip to the local pet store or to Grammy and Grampy’s house on the lake.
Sometimes, in the colder weather, he gets to sit in the front seat with the butt warmers on. ♥
However, most of the time Teton is either in the back of the car or in the middle with a seat cover.
In my opinion, the best dog car seat covers are those made by Kurgo. And no, I’m not just saying that because they sent me one to review. In fact, I’ve purchase two Kurgo car seat covers in my lifetime because I think they’re that good.
This waterproof, stain resistant, machine washable cover is a very reasonable $40 and has a universal fit that means it’ll work for most vehicles. It comes in three colors – Black, Hampton Sand, and Charcoal Grey – so you can easily match it to the interior of your car.
Once you open the Wander Bench Seat Cover, you’ll pull out a sheet of instructions on how to install it.
Complicated, am I right? In truth, it wasn’t bad at all. I skimmed the directions and headed outside to install it in the Goosemobile, which took me about five minutes.
One of the best things about this seat cover (and all of Kurgo’s products) is the attention to detail in the little things like buckles, stitching, and pockets.
The Wander Bench Seat Cover, once installed, is super secure. It barely moves once your dog (or kids, passengers, groceries, etc.) is sitting on it thanks to it’s under-seat and back-of-seat attachments. Curious about those? Check out Kurgo’s video.
I’m so happy with this seat cover from Kurgo. Teton is, too, because it means more car rides for him!
Check out all of Kurgo’s car seat covers here. You can’t go wrong with any of these options!

Today was a perfect summer day in the Pacific Northwest. I got up early, went for a bike ride, came home to make a big breakfast, and am currently relaxing before the week starts!
It’s hot today, so Teton is wearing his Kool Collar. I can’t recommend this product highly enough, especially in the summer months.
Today, I have a new product to share with you and a new product reviewer.
Remember Milo (AKA Miles)?
Milo did me a favor this past week and tested the K9 Natural line of toppers and canned food.
The kind folks at K9 Natural sent this adorable bag of goodies, filled with two flavors of toppers and two of their canned food.
K9 Natural is a New Zealand-based company that makes food and treats for both dogs and cats. In addition to using only sustainable, free-range, and grass-fed ingredients, all of their products are grain free and do not contain fillers.
While they have everything from frozen food to treats, Milo tested their toppers and canned food!
Curious about K9 Natural nutrition stats? Check it out. All of their products are comprised of:
90% meat from a single source protein
5% New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels, Eggs
5% fruits and vegetables, vitamins, minerals and oils
0% grain, gluten, gmo, rice, potato or fillers
If you’ve been toying with the idea of feeding your dog raw food, I recommend K9 Natural. Their line of toppers and canned food are a great introduction to the brand and I’ve heard many good things about their line of frozen and freeze-dried food!
While K9 Natural is based in New Zealand, their products are available in the US, Canada, and a handful of other countries. If you give them a try, let us know what you think!
Big thanks to K9 Natural for sending us your toppers and canned food. Miles thanks you!

I’m pretty freaking stoked to share my review of the Petcube Play with you today. This is hands-down the coolest product I’ve received and I know you’re going to love it!
The Petcube Play is an interactive camera that allows you not only to see what your pet is doing while you’re away from the house, but also to talk to and hear your pet through 2-way audio and play with your pet with a laser!
You do all of this through your phone and the set up and use of the Petcube Play is insanely easy, which is a huge plus.
Inside the Petcube Play is the camera itself, power adaptor, power cable, and a quick and easy start guide to get set up in a matter of minutes.
Here is what the Petcube Play looks like unboxed.
For size reference, here is is next to some votive holders. It’s fairly small, which is great if you’re someone who doesn’t like big electronics sitting in your living room or other area of the house.
To get the most out of the Petcube Play, it’s recommended that you set it up wherever your pet spends the most time during the day. For Teton, that’s the living room, where he can watch for predators and protect the house.
Once you’ve set up the Petcube Play itself, you’ll want to download the app. From there, it’s a few quick adjustments in your settings and you’ll be ready to rock!
Aside from the live view (which you get to by simply touching the play icon above “herdogblog’s petcube”), one of the coolest features of the Petcube Play is Petcube Care. This feature (which you view by touching the heart/paw print icon) actually records and stores video from your Petcube when there is movement or sound detected. In the app settings, you can indicate whether you want to be notified of movement, sound, or both!
I didn’t know what to expect when I first set up our Petcube Play. If I’m being completely honest, I initially thought, “Ok, I guess this is cool. But, I don’t really think I’ll look at it that often. And I bet the quality isn’t that great.” Another thing I know I said to at least three separate people was, “I’d never pay $200 for this.”
I was wrong. This thing is SO FREAKING COOL. And, yes, I’d pay $200 for it. Why? Three words. Piece of mind.
For example, the videos that follow were recorded by the Petcube Play early one morning after I’d left for work (which is why they’re in night vision).
How is that just not the coolest thing ever?!
I also took a screen shot from a video that Petcube Care recorded that makes me smile every time I look at it.
Being able to see Teton at any time when I’m away from the house gives me the feeling I had when I used to bring Teton to work with me every day. It puts my mind at ease, brings my blood pressure down, and instantly puts me in a better mood!
You might be wondering what I think of the laser and 2-way audio.
With the laser, Teton has never been one to enjoy chasing, well…anything, so that’s not a feature that will get a lot of use. I know many cats that would thoroughly enjoy it, however!
As for the 2-way audio, I need to test it a bit more. Teton is one of those special dogs that gets very anxious if he can hear my husband or I but not see us. With that being said, my plan is to test the audio by talking to him through it when I’m in another room to see how he reacts and if his little heart can handle it. 🙂 As for listening on the other end through my phone, the audio is flawless!
The Petcube Play comes in three colors and retails at $199.
Petcube also has a new product coming soon – Petcube Bites. Petcube Bites, instead of a laser, has the ability to fling treats to your pet either on demand or on a schedule. It will retail for $249 and you can pre-order it on the Petcube website today!
I’m so excited about our Petcube Play that I’ve been telling practically everyone I know (and some that I don’t) all about it. If you’re in the market for a pet camera or if the idea of being able to watch and interact with your pet while you’re away excites you, check out Petcube. The quality is incredible, the set-up is a breeze, and it’s just plain FUN.
Huge thanks to Petcube for sending Her Dog Blog the Petcube Play! I never thought I’d love it as much as I do and now I can’t live without it!

Why can’t we have every Monday or Friday off? I really believe that we’d all be happier, healthier, and more productive in our personal and work lives. Am I right?!
Today’s review is on a new treat from the Newman’s Own Organics line, available on Chewy.com.
Teton has been enjoying the chicken-flavored Hip & Joint Snack Sticks all week and we’re very pleased with them! Here’s why…
These treats come in a 5-ounce bag that’ll run you just $3.71. That’s awesome thing number one. Awesome thing number two is that they’re made of great ingredients like chicken, chickpeas, rosemary extract, turmeric, and of course glucosamine and chondroitin. (Read more about glucosamine and chondroitin in one of my previous posts here.)
More awesome coming your way. They’re made in the United States, they’re free of corn, soy, and wheat, and they are super soft and easily broken making it a great treat for dogs of all ages.
Teton approves, as evidenced by him creepin’ on me as I took these photos.
If you’ve never given your dog a supplement or treat for their hips and joints, I recommend it. Why? Why not? I, myself, take a glucosamine supplement so why wouldn’t I do the same for my little dude if it’s likely to help his hips and joints?
Now, if you’re in the market for something for your dog-loving self, walk run to TJ Maxx if you have one near you because OMG look at these adorable bags I got there yesterday. ♥
The tote was $4.99 and the zipper pouch was $2!!! I couldn’t not get them. I’m seriously always on the hunt for dog stuff for humans so please, please let me know if you find anything amazing! You can e-mail me directly at herdogblog@gmail.com!
Happy tails, y’all!
