Summer Afternoon

Summer afternoon, summer afternoon.  To me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.

~ Henry James

Are you still recovering from the long weekend?  I’ve asked it before and I’ll ask it again.  Why can’t all weekends be three days long?

The Little Blogger enjoyed a long weekend of heat and sun – two rare things in Washington State!

On Saturday we walked to our local Farmer’s Market.  Teton and I waited outside the grocery store while the hus ran in to grab a few things.

(He wore his backpack in case we picked something up at the market.)

Which we didn’t.

But it was still an awesome walk!

Going to the Farmer’s Market is one of my favorite things to do on the weekend.  Practically every city in Washington has a Farmer’s Market, and, since they are all outside, dogs are welcome!

Taking your dog or puppy to your local Farmer’s Market is a fun, unique way to socialize them.  Not only do they get to interact with adults, children, and other dogs, but it’s a great opportunity to work on manners in a loud, bustling environment.  Plus, most of the vendors and shoppers at Farmer’s Markets are pretty into dogs.  At least, that’s been our experience!

For the fourth we went to a neighborhood BBQ.  Teton came along, of course.

He stayed in the shade most of the day.

All that black fur must get pretty hot!

All in all, it was a fun and relaxing weekend.  We’re still a little spent, though.

How was your fourth?

Be sure to stop by HDB on Thursday.  We’ll be reviewing THIS…

Hope to see you then!
